In her desperation to find Sabre and rescue him from Myon Two, Tassin boarded a smuggler ship that answered Tarl’s call for help, and she and Tarl have been abducted. Her royal status means nothing to their kidnappers, but her airs and graces pay off on the auction block, and she and Tarl are purchased by a self-styled emperor. Tarl’s skills as a cyber technician prove valuable to Emperor Endrovar, who owns cybers, but the emperor has no use for Tassin, and sells her.

The Queen’s new owner is a high king, ruler of fifteen solar systems, whose family has strange ties to Myon Two. She discovers an astounding revelation regarding Sabre’s origins, but is unable to persuade Tarvin to let her go.

When Sabre learns of Tassin’s abduction, despair overwhelms him, for she has vanished into the endless reaches of space, untraceable… lost. He is certain he will never find her again, and, although Fairen helps him set out on his quest to seek her, he knows, deep in his heart, that it is hopeless. His machine-trained mind has calculated the odds and returned a decimal so small he does not want to count the zeroes in front of it.

Sabre has no hope, and he cannot cope with the host human emotions her disappearance dumps into his mind – useless, illogical feelings that only bring him pain. Fate has dealt him a final, crushing blow, and he has lost the girl he loves just when he has finally become almost human…

Original and great series. I don't usu read fantasy type but this series is so good that no matter the genre you get sucked in. Writing style better than most with the occasional odd tense or participle. I would guess English is not original USA variety. So technically she could be correct while sounding off ... Example: he swimmed across the river and leant into the wind (shorter paraphrase) I would write as he swam across the river and leaned into the wind. For some reason that kept bugging me. Fabulous characters that grow and change, surprises everywhere, great fun. Be aware they start free and cost more at the end. Which is fair and smart.

Precipice The Cyber Chronicles Book 9 eBook T C Southwell Reviews

Yes, it goes on & on my friends. . .and I'm kinda happy it does. Good writing and great character development. Starts a bit slow, but catches ya. Very imaginative.
Continuation of Sabre's adventures. Pretty good book in this long series. It reads easily and lets you use your imagination in many areas.
TC Southwell keeps you on the edge of your seat. Sabre has vanished along with his Scorpion Overlord alert. Tassen and Tarl are kidnapped by slavers when searching for Sabre. It's always out of the pan and into the fire as these star crossed individuals search for each other.
I enjoyed the end of this series though with the length of the last five or six editions they could have been combined as they were not terribly long and the expense was quite high as it came to its conclusion which is rather a shame that authors do that. I did enjoy the series as a whole and whilst their were grammar mistakes it was generally well written.
Southwell seems to be able to crank out books like a machine in one of her stories. Every time I turned around there was another book for this series or her other one about the queen's blade. Both series were an easy read, the characters were neat and inventive, and they all won in the end. Oh and the books were inexpensive too, which was nice.

I will however say that by book 20? I was a little tired of this series. I felt bad for Cyber who can't just be left alone to create little cybers with his wife.
I consider The Queen's Blade series to be a work that stands alone. Absolutely fascinating and at times, heartrending. So I wasn't sure how she could have another series that would claim my attention as much as The Queen's Blade did. I have not been disappointed. I can't say that it tops The Queen's Blade. I'm not even sure it's appropriate to compare the two. Suffice it to say that I purchased all of her books in this series and loved every bit of it! I'm looking forward to reading her other book series with the expectation and excitement of an adventurer!
Well, this is the end of the current series and this book finishes it well. My recurring complaint about not enough heat between the h/h still stands. Even with Sabre's emotions, there just isn't that much heat. If the author adds more books, there should be more between the two showing that they love each other.

There are also some items that did not get resolved like will Sabre be able to have children and what will happen to King Tarvin. I did like the fact that the author finally told us the origin of the DNA used for the cybers. I would have liked a few more details and perhaps that will come in the future.
